Robert

Age: 14

Untitled design.png

Robert is a 14-year-old student living in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. He attends a predominantly French-speaking school and is currently in Form 5, which is equivalent to Form 4 in English-speaking schools in Cameroon or Year 10 in England. Robert lives with his mother, his twin sister, and his older brother in a single-room apartment. His family faces financial challenges, with his mother working as a cleaner and his older brother having dropped out of school to take on work and help pay for school fees for Robert and his sister.

Despite these pressures, Robert remains focused and committed to his education. His favourite subject is literature—he enjoys reading and thinking deeply about the themes and ideas presented in stories. He dreams of becoming a lawyer, a goal that reflects his thoughtful nature and his strong sense of justice.

Outside of school, Robert enjoys spending time with his family. His favourite food is eru, and his favourite colour is red. As with many children his age, he appreciates the chance to celebrate special occasions with good food and time with loved ones.

Robert’s determination to continue with school, even under difficult circumstances, is clear. With the right support, he has the potential to succeed and pursue his dream of working in law. Sponsorship would ensure Robert can continue his education consistently, with access to essentials like uniform, school supplies, nutritious meals, and health care. These basic needs are crucial for Robert’s stability and success.

We keep sponsors updated with monthly photographs and reports detailing Robert’s progress and activities, so you can see firsthand the impact of your support. Sponsorship starts at £25 per month and directly contributes to helping Robert build a better future.
