Children of Cameroon is Looking for Trustees!

December 14, 2017

We are looking for trustees for our new child sponsorship charity. We work with a small organisation on the ground in Cameroon, and are looking for some UK based trustees to help shape the vision for the charity, moving forwards.

About Children of Cameroon

Children in Cameroon is a small organisation that coordinates and promotes child sponsorship for children living below the poverty line in Belo, Cameroon.

What are we looking for?

Trustees who know a thing or two about the charity sector, and who share in our passion for helping children to access education.

Practical Considerations

Our official board meetings are once a month. If you are not local to South Devon, this can be done via Skype.

A lot of our work can be done online, from home, and communications are largely via email, but sometimes phone. Therefore, we need trustees who are used to using the internet, and who have internet access at home.

As a very new organisation, we are unable to pay expenses. Therefore, we try to work in a way where there are limited expenses!

Qualifications

Qualifications for the role are: approximately five or more hours to spare each week, computer and internet competency, and experience in one or more of the following areas:

1. Treasury and accounting/book keeping
2. Setting up and playing a role in a charity
3. Fundraising
4. Promotions/advertising
5. Passion for helping children
6. Interest in Cameroon and/or West Africa

As most of our work is done online, trustees can be based anywhere in the UK.
