Danuel is a 7-year-old boy from Belo in Cameroon's Boyo region. Born in 2018, he currently lives with a kind family who took him in when he needed care. Danuel's early years have included several transitions—initially moving to his aunt's home when his mother faced challenges in caring for him, then being left behind when his aunt married. Fortunately, a compassionate family stepped in to provide him with stability. However, the ongoing Anglophone crisis has made it increasingly difficult for this family to support Danuel and the other children in their care.

Danuel particularly enjoys his religion classes at school and recently learned about food utensils—a lesson he found especially interesting. When not in school, Danuel helps his grandmother by carrying water, showing his developing sense of responsibility and care for others. His favourite person is his Uncle Francis, with whom he enjoys playing games.

Looking to the future, Danuel has expressed an interest in becoming a driver when he grows up, but his broader ambition is "to go through school and have a better life." In ten years, he hopes to be finishing secondary school and looking forward to university—a goal that reflects his understanding of education's importance.
