Elizabeth is a 16-year-old girl from Belo in Cameroon’s Northwest region. Born on 28th June 2008, she has just finished primary school and is preparing to start Form 1 in September—the first year of secondary school. This is a major step for Elizabeth, especially because she is several years behind where she would normally be in her education. Due to the ongoing Anglophone crisis, schools in her region were closed for several years, causing a long interruption for all children in the area. Many, like Elizabeth, missed crucial years of schooling and are now working hard to catch up.

Her favourite subject is English, and her favourite colour is red. She enjoys traditional meals like water fufu and eru, which provide comfort amid challenging times.

Elizabeth dreams of becoming a seamstress and clothing designer. She is passionate about learning the skills needed to make and design beautiful clothes, hoping to build a career and support herself in the future. To help her along this journey, she wishes to receive clothes, shoes, and books.

Born in Fundong, Elizabeth recently relocated to Belo, where she now lives with a family friend in Jinkfuin. Her parents made this difficult decision because they were unable to fully support her educational and living needs during the crisis.
