Christmas Dresses Appeal 2025
At Children of Cameroon, we believe every child deserves to feel special during the holiday season. Our Christmas Dress Appeal is designed to make sure children without sponsors have the chance to choose their own Christmas outfits creating memories that last long after the celebrations.
The idea
The Christmas Dress Appeal was started to provide new clothes for children who do not yet have sponsors. While our sponsored children receive Christmas outfits through their sponsorship, many children lack the means to get new clothes, which hold important cultural meaning during the festive season. We want every child to experience the joy of wearing something special on Christmas Day, as they have told us how much this means to them.
What we’ve done before
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, in previous years all the children without sponsors were able to visit the local market to choose their own outfits for Christmas. This personal choice made the occasion even more meaningful, as children picked something they truly loved — creating moments of pride and happiness.

“It was a memorable day in my life because it has always been my brother struggling to buy me something, but that day my sponsors did. I bought my nice dress, I ate fried rice and chicken. I enjoyed the rice.”

What we’re planning
For Christmas 2025, we are excited to build on this success and continue the Christmas Dress Appeal across all our project areas. We aim to give every child without a sponsor the chance to pick out an outfit that makes them feel confident and joyful on Christmas Day.

Christmas is about more than just gifts it’s about belonging, pride, and celebration. For many children, receiving a new Christmas dress or outfit brings more than just clothes; it brings a sense of dignity and joy that can brighten their whole year.
