Expanding Study Sessions Across Cameroon

Following the success of our 8-week pilot Study Sessions in Yaoundé, we are now preparing to expand this vital programme into all three of the regions we serve: Yaoundé, Bamenda, and Belo.

Why Study Sessions Matter

Many children in Cameroon face serious barriers to learning—busy homes, limited access to electricity, and a lack of educational support. Our Study Sessions create a calm, focused space for children to complete homework, read, and build confidence—with the support of a qualified mentor and a nourishing meal each week.

Our Vision

By rolling out the Study Sessions programme to three locations, we aim to give more children consistent access to educational support in a structured, encouraging environment. Each session includes:

  • Homework help and reading time

  • Targeted support from a trained learning mentor

  • A healthy meal

  • Structured literacy and learning resources

We're also introducing improved evaluation tools so we can measure progress more effectively and keep making the programme better.

Who Will Benefit

The expanded programme will support at least 50 school-aged children across the three locations, with a focus on those who are underperforming or lacking support at home. All field staff are police-checked and deeply trusted members of their communities.

How We’ll Do It

  • Recruit and train local mentors in each area

  • Provide printed and digital resources (books, stationery, and learning aids)

  • Equip the programme with essential tech like a laptop and printer

  • Offer consistent project management from our UK-based team to ensure high-quality delivery

  • Collect feedback and track each child’s progress, qualitatively and quantitatively.

Help Us Make It Happen

We are currently applying for grants to fund the expansion of our Study Sessions programme—but support from individuals or businesses could make a real difference. Any contribution, big or small, will help us provide vital educational support to children who need it most.
