Easter Swimming and Sports
Easter holds a special place in the hearts of our children, and in 2024, we organised exciting activities that brought our children together for a day of fun and celebration.
The idea
Building on the success of 2023's Easter celebrations, we wanted to give the children another memorable experience. We planned a morning at the swimming pool, with a qualified swimming teacher to ensure safety while teaching the basics of swimming. This outing would provide both adventure and opportunities for friendship, allowing children to bond over shared experiences.
The result
The Easter celebrations were a huge success. The children enjoyed their time at the swimming pool, many of them experiencing it for the first time. The swimming lesson not only promoted essential water safety skills but also allowed the children to have fun and just ‘be children’. After swimming, they gathered at a local restaurant for lunch, making the day even more special.
The impact
The impact of these celebrations goes beyond just the activities; they bring a strong sense of community among our children. This event marked the first time our Bamenda-based children in particular came together in one place, allowing new friendships to develop. New experiences like swimming and dining out are vital for promoting mental health and happiness, ensuring that every child feels included and valued.
